360Outdoors – Mainstream Experience

Grand Canyon White Water Rafting

May 17-20th, 2023

Mainstream Experience is an 4-day/3 night package that blends a Western ranch experience with a whitewater rafting adventure in the Grand Canyon for adults with disabilities.

This trip will begin in Henderson, NV. You will take a scenic flight by a chartered plane to Bar 10 Ranch and experience dude ranch activities and stay the night at the ranch. The next day you will helicopter from Bar 10 to a beach landing site in the canyon on the Colorado River for one night on the river. You will get to raft over 50 miles on the Colorado River and experience what it is like to spend a night under the stars in the canyon. On the last day, you will take a 40-mile trip on a jet boat to Pearce Ferry.

Join us in May 2023 for an adventure of a lifetime designed to meet the needs of persons with all abilities. Arizona River Runners will co-host our adventure, a professional river company experienced and committed to making raft trips accessible to everyone, breaking down barriers, and reducing limitations for those with disabilities.  Whether you are a seasoned outdoor enthusiast or a first-time camper, join us for this life-changing experience. Your adult family members are also invited to share in the adventure, space permitting.

We can offer this trip to our participants through grants and other funding sources for $1,500 per person. This trip fee will include transportation from Ability360 to Henderson, NV. One night stay in Henderson at the Homewood Suites. Chartered plane to Bar 10 ranch, where you can go horseback riding and skeet shooting and experience life on a real working ranch. Along with dinner and a western show. You can sleep under the stars or in one of the covered wagons on the ranch. You will experience a helicopter ride down into the canyon for 1 full day and night on the Colorado River and a jet boat experience to Pearce Ferry, where we will get out and take a bus back to Ability360. This package includes all meals and beverages, camping equipment such as tents, sleeping bags, and dry bags. Financial assistance is available. If financial assistance is requested, apply immediately!

Once your application is received, it will be reviewed by a selection committee. Space is minimal; participants will be selected based on your compelling autobiography and explanation about why this trip is essential to you. If selected, you will receive a packet of information with trip further trip details, including a trip orientation, payment information, lodging, transportation, packing, weather…all of your additional questions!
