A new inclusive youth-designed park for people of all ages and abilities will be formally presented to the community. The National Park Service – Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance Program (NPS-RTCA) is excited to co-host a grand opening event with community partners who researched, designed, and built an innovative park along the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail (Anza Trail). The Anza Trail Cultural History Park will be an outdoor classroom for the Arizona School for the Deaf and the Blind (ASDB) as well as remaining an open public park.

Event details: The public event will take place on Saturday January 28, 2023, from 12:00-3:00 p.m. MST. The event will feature music, dancing, and local food from the San Xavier Co-Op – a community farm that is run by members of the Tohono O’odham Nation. There will be special performances by Gertie and the T.O. Boyz Band, Ballet Folklorico, and at 1:00 a presentation, guest speakers, and ribbon cutting.
