Why should you attend an Independent Living Skills class?
These classes allow you to learn and practice skills to live more independently, while meeting other people with similar experiences.
Independent living classes are always the third Tuesday of the month. We take a half hour (1/2 hour) for lunch from 12-12:30pm. You are responsible for your lunch. There is a cafeteria on our campus.
As apart of your independence we encourage you to arrange your own transportation. If you live within our boundaries, contact your independent Living Advocate to inquire about availability.
If you are not enrolled in Ability360 Independent Living Services and would like more information about the Independent Living complete the form at the bottom of this page.
If you would like to attend or request transportation, please call Douglas West.

If you live with a disability, finding transportation can be a challenge. Even a trip to the grocery store can feel like planning a vacation as you try to find a practical way from point A to point B. As much as we wish every state, city, and town had the same accessibility accommodations, our world isn’t there yet. That’s why it’s essential to know a variety of solutions. Please join Ability360 for our Independent Living skills class on the topic of transportation. This class will be on February 15th, 2022, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. In this class, we will discuss several modes of transportation assistance such as public bus services, taxi services, hail-a-ride apps, private transportation services, and accessibility services for commercial flights if you can’t drive on your own. Please join us in person or through our Zoom link. Hope to see you there!
