Ilyse Stern
Ilyse Stern is an NASM certified personal trainer. Ilyse is currently continuing her training education by studying the NASM corrective specialty. Ilyse has been involved with many populations including coaching Special Olympics and has a great passion for helping others. She is also an experienced dog trainer. Ilyse has trained many dogs for various service organizations throughout the United States. She even has two service dogs of her own that assist her with her daily life. Ilyse has been running a transportation company for many years, and is very excited to work with the many different populations that visit Ability 360.
She is also passionate about empowering people by rebuilding a sense of balance, combined with strength and independence. Ilyse will definitely strive to provide safe, professional guidance to ensure people reach their goals and beyond.
Claire Feeters
Claire Feeters is a NASM certified personal trainer, who is currently continuing her education on Corrective Exercise Specialization. She grew up playing sports during her whole childhood. She soon found a love for working out in the gym and decided to pursue her passion as a career.
With strong enjoyment in working with beginners, Claire possesses a profound understanding of the unique challenges and concerns faced by those starting their fitness journey. She recognizes that taking the first steps towards fitness can be daunting, and that’s why she focus’s on providing personalized attention, guidance, and encouragement throughout the training process. Claire’s expertise lies in creating tailored programs that consider individual capabilities, preferences, and goals.
Claire’s approach to training is centered around building a solid foundation and ensuring a positive experience. She emphasizes the importance of proper technique and form, as well as the gradual progression of exercises to prevent injuries and maintain motivation. Through realistic goal-setting, measurable milestones, and continuous feedback, she helps foster a sense of achievement and self-confidence in her clients.
Manny Rios
Manny Rios is a NASM certified personal trainer. He is pursuing a secondary certification in Performance Enhancement specialist through NSAM. He is also currently continuing his education at Phoenix College where he is going to be receiving his AA in Exercise Science. Manny is a US Air Force veteran. During his time in the service, he was in Security Forces Military Police at Davis Monthan Air Force Base and completed a tour of duty in Afghanistan. Manny is an avid runner and calisthenics (body weight exercises) enthusiast. When he is not studying, he enjoys hiking at various routes around the valley or jamming out to EMO or EDM.
Joe Underwood
Joe is a NASM certified personal trainer who also has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Missouri as well as a Master’s degree in sport psychology from Florida State University. He values the importance of the mental side of performance just as much as the physical side, and is passionate about creating a motivational and fun workout environment for his clients.
Joe is a former swimmer and wheelchair basketball player. Some of his accomplishments include representing the US National Team in both sports as well as playing wheelchair basketball on scholarship at the University of Missouri. He attributes a lot of his success in sports to the amazing trainers he had over the years who were patient and took the time to get to know him, as well his ability level, in order to create the most effective training programs. He is excited to work with his clients to help them achieve the same success he had through personalized and adaptive training.
Shayleigh Mountford
Shayleigh (Shay) is a determined, passionate, and caring individual, who is always ready for a laugh! She was a competitive dancer until the age of 13, played soccer in Junior High, and cheered in high school. Shay was born and raised in Puyallup, WA and graduated from the University of Washington (Go Dawgs!) with a Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration. She’s a NASM certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, and is always looking forward to the next learning opportunity.
Shay found a new home in Phoenix in 2019, and found so much joy in the desert scenery and adventure! She strives to have a well-balanced life full of movement and healthy habits, and is eager to encourage others to do the same. Shay will provide fun and effective workouts, all with an uplifting attitude and smile!
Stephen Eik
Stephen is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer who has a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He has been passionate about sports and fitness his entire life, with experience in competitive swimming, triathlon, and wheelchair rugby. After sustaining a spinal cord injury, he quickly realized that strength training and participating in organized sports made daily living with mobility issues much easier, and was the key to achieving independence. With this insight, he wants to challenge others to build strong muscles, as well as relationships that will last a lifetime.
Before moving to Phoenix, Stephen worked with students at Cal Poly, offering fitness assessments and body composition testing. He also worked in the Wellness Department at Spring Lake Village, a retirement community in Santa Rosa, California.
When Stephen isn’t in the gym or on the rugby court, you can find him rocking out at a metal concert, watching sports, or giving his service dog Maddie belly rubs!
Stephanie Lovinger
Stephanie is an experienced special educator and adaptive physical education teacher. She earned her bachelor’s degree in special education at Arizona State University and a Master’s Degree from Northern Arizona University. During Stephanie’s teaching career she was an advocate to ensure all students have accessible physical education programming. This came from her 18 plus years in self-contained classrooms where students would have progressed further given proper access to physical education.
With this passion Stephanie found that as an ISSA Certified personal trainer she could focus on helping individuals reach their health and fitness goals. She is enrolled at Grand Canyon University, working on a Doctor of Philosophy in Performance Psychology degree. During her own fitness journey, Stephanie embraced her own physical limitations, from learning how to walk again to now an avid hiker.
Cali Spaulding
Cali is a well rounded certified ISSA certified personal trainer, that specializes in adaptive training and corrective exercise. She has also a 500hr trained yoga instructor. She continues to adapt and keep growing her knowledge to better her knowledge and clients needs.
She comes to you from Lake Tahoe California. She could ski before she could walk. Winter sports and extreme sports are in my DNA. After a tragic end to her snowboarding career, she found my own fitness journey and for the last 7 years it has been her life. She became a personal trainer after a sports injury, after being told no, being told she can’t. She here to help you know you can, to help you break the barriers, and the molds. From power lifting, to yoga, you can and you will.
She love helping people reach their goals, but even more so she love watching them discover who they can be, and who they were meant to be. Allowing them to discover there is life after injury after our body’s change or any different ability can have fitness that fits your life and your needs. Plus be pain free and have some fun. She knows that we can pick up and enter the gym at any phase in life.
She wants to assist people as they discover themselves. Together we can navigate even the toughest of storms and be stronger on the other side. She is here to help you find the fitness that calls to you and makes you excited to come to the gym or get outside. Fitness is not one size fits all is her motto.
Justin Graham
Justin is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer & Fitness Nutrition Specialist, and Certified Zumba/Aqua Zumba Instructor. He has lost over 100lbs and specializes in weight management, strength training, mental toughness and fitness behavior change! He also knows that the secret to Healthy Happiness is to make fitness fun! Every fitness journey just takes a start!
Jena Yates
Jena is a personalized fitness trainer certified by the American Council on Exercise (ACE). Jena has also been in practice as a Licensed Massage Therapist for nearly 20 years and has a strong interest in nutrition and in helping others to make healthy lifestyle choices. She believes that emphasizing our strengths empowers us to have positive growth toward our endless potential. Currently, while away from the gym, Jena teaches group fitness classes for wheelchair users and works with a wide variety of clients to create fun and challenging sessions that are tailored to their unique circumstances. Jena and her daughter have been members of Ability360 for the last seven years and absolutely love that it enables them to participate in fitness related activities and classes together.
When she isn’t working, Jena loves spending time with her husband, their daughter and their dogs. Otherwise, you can find her drinking chai lattes and reading about nutrition and fitness, going for a run, bike ride, or hike, or cooking/baking something healthy and delicious!
