Accessible Housing

Our goal at Ability360 is to be the local resource in real estate accessibility needs for individual with disabilities. With over 20% of the population currently living with a disability, and growing closer to 1 in 4, accessible features adds safety, comfort and more desirable housing. We strive to create connections with other thought leaders and entities who are passionate about inclusion and improving the disparity between individuals with disabilities and adequate housing.

We have partnered with Valley Leadership to develop the resources found below. The intent (or purpose) is to is to create awareness of the importance of accessible housing and to educate businesses and individual, including: Builders, Developers, Realtors, Home Buyers and Home Owners

Why is Accessible Housing Important?

  • In Arizona, thirteen percent (13%) of the population (or about 912,115 individuals) reported a disability.
  • There are rising disability levels among middle-age Americans (age 40 to 64) as well as increasing disability among those ages 55 to 64.
  • Seventeen percent (nearly 1,1 Million) of the population in Arizona is 65 years and older and this percentage is steadily increasing every year.
  • Roughly 10,000 baby boomers across the United States will turn 65 every day for the next 19 years. (i.e. the Silver Tsunami)
  • Find more facts here.

Including accessible features from the beginning creates a greater supply of accessible homes for a growing market and reduces the need for residents to spend large sums of money on modifications in the future.
