Ability360

The dedicated work of caregivers in support of seniors and people with disabilities is essential to ensuring that members of the community can live with independence and dignity in their own homes. Policy decisions being made about Home and Community Based Services have the potential to profoundly uproot and alter the lives of caregivers and people with disabilities.

Ability360 is monitoring these changes and the potential impact on people providing care and receiving care through AHCCCS (Medicaid). These cuts, which were included in the One Big Beautiful Act, also known as H.R. 1, the federal budget bill passed in 2025, may have adverse effects on Arizonans.

With a focus on legislative advocacy, Ability360 is proactively talking to federal and state legislators about working with the disability community to strengthen Medicaid and HCBS. By hiring a Director of Public Policy to closely monitor policy decisions, Ability360 is working to address the needs of the entire disability community and the people who support it.

The disability community has fought to keep people with disabilities out of institutions, and we will continue to fight to keep these vital services funded.
