Congratulations to Cees Whinsonant on being nominated as April’s volunteer of the month.

SpoFit would like to congratulate Cees Whinsonant for all his hard work volunteering at SpoFit by announcing him as Volunteer of the Month for April!

Cees has been volunteering with youth programs, helping out in the fitness center and leading Tuesdays Over-the-Line class for a little over a year now. Cees is a transplant from Ellicott City, Maryland to Phoenix, Arizona where he attends Arizona State University. Currently he is a Premed sophomore at ASU and is in Barrett Honors College, he would eventually like to go into cardiac surgery. Cees’ response as to why he started volunteering at SpoFit “I was looking for a volunteer opportunity with adaptive sports and SpoFit caught my eye. I came in and it was quickly clear that this was a place where I would not just come to simply volunteer, but somewhere I would enjoy coming to every week”.
One of Cees’ favorite aspects of SpoFit is how welcoming the members are and how grateful everyone is for his help. “It’s extremely rewarding to know that everyone appreciates the help I am giving them.” Since volunteering at SpoFit Cees has learned all about various adaptive sports and activities that he previously never knew existed with this ranging from Over-The-Line to learning more about the strategies and game play of wheelchair rugby.
