What is Home Modification?

Ability360’s Home Modification program assists people with disabilities and/or seniors who need modifications to their residence to improve accessibility and safety. The program facilitates accessible modifications for low-to-moderate-income Maricopa County residents made possible mainly by Community Development Block Grants.

Additional funding may be possible through Arizona Long Term Care Services (ALTCS) and other sources, call for more information.

What kind of home modifications can be done?

We can assist with a wide variety of essential modifications that increase the accessibility in your home and increase the independence of one or more of the residents with a disability.

Typical modifications include:

• Ramps
• Widen door openings
• Install grab bars
• Modify sinks & toilets
• Relocate electrical switches

Who is qualified for the program?

You or a family member must have a permanent physical disability.

Programming is also available for homeowners aged 62+ who are income eligible in Pinal & Gila Counties and in the Maricopa County communities of: Buckeye, Cave Creek, Gila Bend, Tonopah, Wickenburg & Wittmann, which are funded through the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

How much does it cost?

This program is currently free to individuals who qualify for service.
